The Friends of Jimmy Miller, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization made up of a voluntary Board of Directors and officers.
The organization is dedicated to raising funds to support programs that benefit children in crisis. Many of these programs and services deal with positive reinforcement, teaching life skills and adolescent development.
Funds are raised at an annual benefit dinner of which 100% of the net proceeds from the dinner are distributed to directly benefit programs for children in crisis. Since the dinner was expanded in 2002 over $1,600,000 has been raised. The Annual Dinner has been attended faithfully by former Attorney General and current Senator, Richard Blumenthal, Mayors from New Haven, East Haven, West Haven, Shelton, Ansonia and Derby. Bishop Peter Rosazza of the Hartford Archdiocese and Bishop William Cote of the Norwich Archdiocese among other regular notable attendees.
Last year over 1,000 people attended the dinner and the following organizations benefited from their charitable giving:
Mount St. John's Clifford Beers Clinic, Marine Cadets of America, The Heart & Hope Fund, The Hospital of St Raphael'sFoundation, M.T.A. Scholarship Fund , Catholic Charities, The Children'senter of Hamden, Boys & Girls Village Milford, Boys & Girls Club of Naugatuck Valley, Klingberg Family Centers, Coordinating Council for Children in Crisis (CCCC), and Special Olympics.
Tickets are by invitation only and all guests are asked to make a contribution at the door to "The Friends of Jimmy Miller, Inc." to benefit the agencies. All donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
